梁家輝在香港理工學院平面設計系畢業，1980年考入電視廣播有限公司藝員訓練班。1983年，梁家輝獲李翰祥賞識，在《火燒圓明園》（1983）及《垂簾聽政》（1983）中扮演咸豐皇帝，並以《垂簾聽政》獲得第三屆香港電影金像獎最佳男主角獎。1990年，梁家輝以《愛在別鄉的季節》獲頒金馬獎最佳男主角獎。1992年，他參演法國電影《情人》。他主演的《92黑玫瑰對黑玫瑰》（1992）帶動懷舊及瘋狂電影潮流，讓他在香港電影金像獎再度稱帝。梁家輝深入民心的作品還包括《監獄風雲》（1987）、《新難兄難弟》（1993）、《江湖告急》（2000）、《跟蹤》（2007）等。1999年，他主演及監製的獨立影片《天上人間》（1999）獲邀參加康城影展競賽單元。2004年，梁家輝憑《大丈夫》（2003）獲頒香港電影金像獎最佳男配角獎。2006年及2013年，梁家輝分別以《黑社會》（2005）及《寒戰》（2012）再獲頒香港電影金像獎最佳男主角獎。

Born in Hong Kong, actor Tony Leung Ka Fai studied graphic design at Hong Kong Polytechnic. His showbiz career began when he enrolled in TVB’s acting course. In 1983, director Li Han Hsiang cast him as “Emperor Xianfeng” in the epic films The Burning of Imperial Palace (1983) and Reign Behind a Curtain (1983). The latter won him Best Actor at the 3rd Hong Kong Film Awards. He landed another Best Actor at Taiwan’s Golden Horse Awards for Farewell China (1990). Leung went on to play the male protagonist in the French film The Lover in 1992. That same year, 92 Legendary La Rose Noire (1992) saw Leung scoop his second Hong Kong Film Awards Best Actor honour. Other prominent titles he made include Prison on Fire (1987), He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Father (1993), Jiang Hu: The Triad Zone (2000), Eye in the Sky (2007) and Cold War (2012). In 1999, the independent work Love Will Tear Us Apart (1999), produced by and starring Leung, was featured in competition at Cannes Film Festival. Leung’s intense and powerful acting has continued to win awards, including Best Supporting Actor for Man Suddenly in Black (2003) in 2004, and Best Actor for both Election (2005) and Cold War (2012), all at the Hong Kong Film Awards.

黃秋生原名Anthony Perry，1982年加入麗的電視（後易名為亞洲電視）藝員訓練班，兩年間演出了25部電視劇。黃秋生演出電影《花街時代》（1985）後自覺演技未達標，考入香港演藝學院修讀表演系，後曾多次獲頒舞台劇最佳男演員獎。黃氏畢業後獲邀加入電視廣播有限公司，參演30多部劇集。1990年開始活躍影壇，先後憑《八仙飯店之人肉叉燒飽》（1993）和《野獸刑警》（1998）獲頒香港電影金像獎最佳男主角獎，並以《無間道》（2002）與《頭文字D》（2005）兩度獲得香港電影金像獎及台灣金馬獎最佳男配角獎。《千言萬語》（1999）則為他帶來香港電影金紫荊及「香港特區十周年電影選舉」最佳男主角獎。獲獎無數的他是圈中公認的實力派。他曾編導《新房客》（1995）與《金裝香蕉俱樂部》（1996）兩片。黃秋生至今已演出超過200齣電影，近作包括《葉問：終極一戰》（2013）、《12金鴨》（2015）、《淪落人》（2018）等。

Also known as Anthony Perry, actor Anthony Wong Chau Sang joined RTV’s acting course in 1982 and went on to appear in 25 TV dramas in two years. He had a role in the film My Name Ain’t Suzie (1985), before furthering his studies in acting at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. During this time, he also won several Best Actor awards in drama competitions. After graduating, Wong joined TVB, where he acted in some 30 drama series. He resumed big screen acting in 1990, and has since appeared in more than 200 titles including Ann Hui’s Ordinary Heroes (1999). A respected thespian, he was named Best Actor at the Hong Kong Film Awards for The Untold Story (1993) and Beast Cops (1998), and Best Supporting Actor for Infernal Affairs (2002) and Initial D (2005) at the Hong Kong Film Awards and Taiwan’s Golden Horse Awards. Wong also won the Golden Bauhinia Award and Best Actor at the HKSAR 10th Anniversary Film Awards for Ordinary Heroes (1999). He directed two films in the 1990s: New Tenant (1995) and Top Banana Club (1996). His recent works include Ip Man: The Final Fight (2013), 12 Golden Ducks (2015) and Still Human (2018).

Actress and singer Cecilia Cheung was born in Hong Kong and went to high school in Australia. Upon returning to her hometown, she appeared in a soft drink commercial and caught the attention of director Stephen Chow, who invited her to play the leading role in King of Comedy (1999). The same year, she was cast as the female lead in Fly Me to Polaris (1999), which won her the Best New Performer Award at the Hong Kong Film Awards. Beautiful and charismatic, Cheung went on to star in dozens of movies, including Twelve Nights (2000), Wu Yen (2001), Second Time Around (2002), Running on Karma (2003), One Nite in Mongkok (2004) and The Promise (2005). In 2004, she won Best Actress at both the Hong Kong Film Awards and the Bauhinia Film Awards for Lost in Time (2003); she also received a Best Actress Award from the Hong Kong Film Critics Society for Running on Karma (2003). In 2001, Cheung starred in Failan (2001), a Korean production directed by Song Hae Sung. The film heightened her fame in Korea and won her a nomination in the Daejong Film Awards. Cheung left the silver screen after her marriage to Nicholas Tse in 2006; she resumed acting in 2010, appearing in All’s Well, Ends Well (2011).

黎北海是香港電影業的先驅，參與製作開創時期的故事短片《莊子試妻》（1914）和長片《胭脂》（1925），默片時期已擔任監製、編導和演員等職位。1921至1923年，黎北海與長兄黎海山、六弟黎民偉創辦新世界戲院和民新製造影畫片有限公司。省港大罷工結束後，1928年黎氏與富商利希慎創辦香港影片公司，之後拍攝了《左慈戲曹》（1931）。1930年，黎北海加入業務遍及全國的聯華影業製片印刷有限公司，擔任聯華港廠廠長和附設的演員養成所的導師，培訓了一批台前幕後人才，如吳楚帆、李鐵等。他為中華製造聲默影片有限公司拍攝的《傻仔洞房》（1933），是帶領香港進入聲片年代的重要作品之一。
Mr Lai Pak Hoi

Director
A pioneer of Hong Kong cinema, Lai Pak-hoi was involved in the making of the first Hong Kong short film, Chuang Tzu Tests His Wife (1914), and a decade later, directed Hong Kong’s first full-length drama, Rouge (1925). He was active as a producer, director, scriptwriter and actor in the silent era. From 1921-1923, he set up New World Cinema and China Sun Motion Picture Company with his brothers Lai Hoi Shan and Lai Man Wai. After the Canton-Hong Kong Strike in the mid-1920s, he established Hong Kong Film Company with the support of business tycoon Hysan Lee, and went on to helm The Witty Sorcerer (1931), the first film to be made after the strike. In 1930, Lai headed the Hong Kong branch of Shanghai’s United Photoplay and served as an instructor in the studio’s training school. He had a hand in grooming numerous actors and film professionals, including Ng Cho Fan and Lee Tit. In the 1930s, Lai founded China Sound and Silent Movies Production Company and made The Idiot’s Wedding Night (1933), an important work that marked the turning point from silent to sound film production.

曾江原名曾貫一，1955年以國語片《同林鳥》（1955）首登銀幕，不久便赴美修讀建築系。1960年，曾江畢業回港任建築師，3年後全情投入電影界。1964年，曾氏演出國語片《大馬戲團》（1964）及《糊塗女偵探》（1965），其後加入仙鶴港聯影業公司，演出《玉女英魂》上、下集（1965）、《天劍絕刀》上、下集（1967-68）等粵語武俠片，並參演不少文藝片與歌舞片，成為60年代當紅小生之一，僅1967至1970年4年內便有80部影片上映。70年代後期，曾江開始影視雙棲，從影至今約共參演200部電影及50部電視劇，演出的電視劇包括《射鵰英雄傳》（1983）、《笑傲江湖》（1984）、《誓不低頭》（1988）等，近年更參與電視節目《四個小生去旅行》（2015）。而他參演的影片則有《刀馬旦》（1986）、《英雄本色》（1986）、《何日君再來》（1991）、《縱橫四海》（1991）、《竊聽風雲2》（2011）、《寒戰II》（2016）、《追龍》（2017）等，以及荷里活電影《新鐵金剛之不日殺機》（2002）、《藝伎回憶錄》（2005）等，其中他憑《竊聽風雲3》（2014）獲頒香港電影金像獎最佳男配角獎。
Mr Kenneth Tsang

A heartthrob in the 1960s, Kenneth Tsang Kong – birth name Tsang Koon Yat – made his debut in the Mandarin film Tragedy of Vendetta (1955). He then left Hong Kong to study architecture in the US, returning to the city in the 1960s to work as an architect before becoming an actor three years later. His first films were The Big Circus (1964) and Mimi-Private Eye (1965), directed by Chun Kim, his brother-in-law. Tsang joined Hong Kong Film Company in 1965, and appeared in martial arts movies such as A Brave Young Girl’s Spirit (1965), and the two-part Paragon of Sword and Knife (1967 & 1968). In 1967, Tsang left the studio and appeared alongside teen idols Josephine Siao Fong Fong and Connie Chan Po Chu in youth dramas and movie musicals such as Teddy Girls (1969). A prolific and versatile actor, Tsang was credited with 80 films in an assortment of genres in just four years. From the late 1970s, Tsang extended his repertoire to television, starring in 50 serial dramas and 200 films. Among his notable television works are The Legend of the Condor Heroes (1983), The Smiling, Proud Wanderer (1984) and The Final Verdict (1988), and more recently Four Amigos Bon Voyage (2015). His most high-profile films include Peking Opera Blues (1986), A Better Tomorrow (1986), Au Revoir, Mon Amour (1991), Once a Thief (1991), Overheard 2 (2011), Overheard 3 (2014) and Chasing the Dragon (2017). Overheard 3 saw him scoop Best Supporting Male Actor at the Hong Kong Film Awards. To Western audiences, Tsang is best known for his roles in Hollywood films such as Die Another Day (2002) and Memoirs of a Geisha (2005).

A one-of-a-kind filmmaker, Sylvia Chang possesses exceptional talent in screenwriting, directing and acting. Chang was born in Chiayi, Taiwan, and first appeared on screen in Golden Harvest production The Tattooed Dragon (1973). She was named Best Supporting Actress in 1976 at the Golden Horse Awards for Posterity and Perplexity (1975) and subsequently won Best Actress for her role in My Grandfather in 1981. She stepped in as director for Once Upon a Time in 1980 after the sudden death of director Tu Chung Hsun in a traffic accident. More directorial works followed, including Passion (1986), Sisters of the World Unite (1991), Siao Yu (1995), Tonight Nobody Goes Home (1996), Tempting Heart (1999), Princess-D (2002), 20 30 40 (2004), Murmur of the Hearts (2015) and Love Education (2017). She received the Best Actress honour at the Golden Horse Awards and the Hong Kong Film Awards for Passion (1986), which she also scripted and directed. In 2002, Forever and Ever (2001) saw her win her second Hong Kong Film Awards Best Actress honour. Chang won Best Screenplay again for Tonight Nobody Goes Home at the Pan Asia Film Festival; Tempting Heart and Love Education bagged Best Screenplay at the Hong Kong Film Awards in 2000 and 2018, respectively; and Murmur of the Hearts and Love Education garnered Best Screenplay and Best Director at the 22nd and 24th Hong Kong Film Critics Society Awards, respectively. Another Best Actress accolade came her way at the Hong Kong Film Awards for her performance in Forever and Ever. Apart from serious dramatic roles, Chang is also adept at comedies, the most well-known being her portrayal of a tough policewoman in Cinema City’s “Aces Go Places” series. Chang was also producer for Three Summers (1993) and My Way (2012).

Divo Jacky Cheung is also an accomplished actor in a diverse range of film genres. Born in Hong Kong, he became a professional singer soon after winning the Hong Kong 18 Districts Singing Contest in 1984. Cheung was 100 hundred albums over 22 years. His albums have been sold all over the world, selling more than 40 million copies, which makes him one of the world’s top-selling pop singers. Cheung’s acting career launched in 1986 with Where’s Officer Tuba? (1986). But it was Devoted to You (1986), which saw him co-starring with May Lo, his future wife, that made him famous. Cheung won Best Supporting Actor at the Hong Kong Film Awards for As Tears Go By (1988) and Best Supporting Actor at the Golden Horse Awards for Swordsman (1990). He also received Best Actor at the Cinemaya Festival of Asian Cinema, held in New Delhi, for July Rhapsody (2002), as well as Best Original Film Song for Perhaps Love (2005) at the Hong Kong Film Awards. Hong Kong-born actor Lau Ching-wan appeared in TV drama Draw Out the Rainbow (1984) a year after graduating from TVB’s acting course. He next charmed audiences as “Fit-Lo” in the immensely popular Police Cadet (1984) drama series. More dramas ensued, including The Grand Canal (1987), It Runs in the Family (1990) and The Greed of Man (1992) co-starring future wife Amy Kwok. Lau debuted as a film actor in Silent Love (1986) and went on to prove that his rugged and formidable looks would not stop him from mastering a wide range of characters. He was nominated for Best Actor at the Hong Kong Film Awards seven times, for C’est La Vie, Mon Chéri (1993), Thou Shalt Not Swear (1993), Big Bullet (1996), Full Alert (1997), The Longest Nite (1998), Victim (1999) and Lost in Time (2003), before winning Best Actor for My Name is Fame (2006) in 2007 and Overheard 3 (2014) in 2015. Mr Aaron Kwok Fu Shing

Hong Kong-born actor and singer Aaron Kwok first enrolled in TVB’s dance course in 1984 before switching to the acting course. He subsequently appeared in TV dramas and variety shows while also honing his skills on the big screen. In 1990, a motorcycle commercial in Taiwan saw him become a teen heartthrob overnight, and he released three albums the following year. Kwok continued his career in singing, film and TV acting upon his return to Hong Kong. He was named one of the “Four Heavenly Kings” of Cantopop and has released more than 50 albums since 1990. In terms of acting, his early roles were mainly youthful rebels. He was involved in more than 30 films, including Saviour of the Soul (1991), Rhythm of Destiny (1992), The Bare-Footed Kid (1993), Somebody Up There Likes Me (1996) and Anna Magdalena (1998). His performances in The Storm Riders (1998), China Strike Force (2000), Throw Down (2004) and Cold War (2012) made a deep impression, and proved that he could make the leap from pop idol to accomplished actor. Kwok won Best Actor at the Golden Horse Awards for Divergence (2005) and After This Our Exile (2006). He also bagged Best Actor for Divergence at the Changchun Film Festival. His recent works include Port of Call (2015), which landed him another gold statue at the Hong Kong Film Awards.

鞏俐生於遼寧，1985年入讀中央戲劇學院表演系，翌年隨即獲張藝謀選為其導演處女作《紅高粱》（1987）的女主角。《紅高粱》獲柏林國際電影節最佳影片金熊獎，鞏俐亦備受國際注目。她與張藝謀先後合作《菊豆》（1990）、《大紅燈籠高高掛》（1991）、《秋菊打官司》（1992）與《活著》（1994），《秋菊打官司》（1992）更助她坐上中國金雞獎、百花獎與威尼斯電影節的影后寶座，成為首位榮獲國際電影大獎的中國內地女演員。她亦參演香港電影《夢醒時分》（1992）、《唐伯虎點秋香》（1993）、《中國匣》（1997）、《2046》（2004）等。及後，鞏俐往美國發展，參演《藝伎回憶錄》（2005）、《邁阿密風暴》（2006）、《諜海風雲》（2007）等荷里活電影。2006年，鞏俐於《滿城盡帶黃金甲》中與張藝謀再度合作，並憑此片獲頒香港電影金像獎最佳女主角獎。2014年，二人再度於《歸來》合作。鞏俐在影壇的成就有目共睹，先後獲邀擔任柏林、威尼斯與東京三大國際電影節的評審團主席。

Actress Gong Li was born in Liaoning, China, and graduated from the Central Academy of Drama in Beijing. Prior to her graduation, she was selected to play the protagonist in Zhang Yimou’s directorial debut, Red Sorghum (1987). The film won the Golden Bear at the Berlinale, marking the first time a Mainland Chinese actor received an award in a major international film festival and catapulting both Zhang and Gong to global stardom. The duo’s collaboration, which lasted until 1995, produced Ju Dou (1990), Raise the Red Lantern (1991), The Story of Qiu Ju (1992) and To Live (1994). Gong won Best Actress for The Story of Qiu Ju at the Venice Film Festival, as well as at China’s Golden Rooster Awards and Hundred Flowers Awards. She then took her career to Hong Kong, playing key roles in Mary from Beijing (1992), Flirting Scholar (1993), Chinese Box (1997) and 2046 (2004). Gong also appeared in Hollywood productions such as Memoirs of a Geisha (2005), Miami Vice (2006) and Shanghai (2010). Curse of the Golden Flower (2006), which won her Best Actress at the 26th Hong Kong Film Awards, saw her teaming up with Zhang Yimou again. Their most recent work together is Coming Home (2014). Gong has been President of the Jury at the Berlin, Venice and Tokyo Film Festivals.
