Mr. Leon Lai Ming
Actor and singer, Leon Lai is born in Beijing and moved to Hong Kong at age of six, having pursued his studies in England. In 1986, he won the third prize in the 5th New Talent Singing Contest and joined TVB as a contract artiste in 1986. He has launched over 60 albums from 1989 onwards and was branded as one of the “Four Heavenly Kings of Canto-pop”. Lai started his film career in 1987 and subsequently appeared in a host of films including "Wicked City" (1992), "Fallen Angels" (1995), "Eighteen Springs" (1997), "A Hero Never Dies" (1998), "Bullets of Love" (2001), "Heroic Duo" (2003), “Forever Enthralled” (2008) and “White Vengeance” (2011). He was nominated the Best Actor in the Hong Kong Film Awards for "Comrades, Almost a Love Story" (1996) and "City of Glass" (1998) and won the Best Original Film Song for the latter work. He was awarded the Best Actor by the Golden Horse Awards for his role in "Three" (2002). He served as creative and production controller for “Leaving Me, Loving You” (2004), and won the Best Actor Award in Changchun Film Festival. He scripted, directed and starred in a music film “A Melody Looking” in 2006, featuring numerous artistes from his own music company. His recent works include “Lady of the Dynasty” (2015).
