Actor and singer Nicholas Tse was born in Hong Kong to veteran actors Patrick Tse Yin and Deborah Lee. He had an enviable start in his music and film career at just 16, making his award-winning screen debut in Young and Dangerous: The Prequel (1998), which earned him Best New Performer at the Hong Kong Film Awards. Tse enjoyed enormous success playing challenging roles in films such as Metade Fumaca (1999) and Bodyguards and Assassins (2009). The latter landed him Best Supporting Actor at the Asian Film Awards and the Hong Kong Film Awards, and also received a nomination for Best Supporting Actor at Taiwan’s Golden Horse Awards. With New Police Story (2004), he scooped Best Supporting Actor at the Hundred Flowers Awards. In 2011, he took home Best Actor at the Hong Kong Film Awards for The Stool Pigeon (2010),. Tse’s recent works include The Viral Factor (2012), As the Light Goes Out (2013) and From Vegas to Macau (2014). He set up a post-production company in 2003.
